I got a phone call saying that I won free tickets to Las Vegas?

They said that I filled out an entry form at a mall. It was actually my brother’s email they had. How can I know if this is a scam or if it’s real? They said if I called them back right away, I would be able to get free tickets to a ball game. Is there a way I can verify a 1-800 number online? I tried reverse lookup, but nothing came up.

They said their company was World Market by Wyndam. How can I check to see if this is for real?
Thanks for all the answers!!!
The person on the phone originally wanted to send me an email, but I told him I’d rather have it sent to me by mail, so that’s that.

I called the 1800 555 number and the number was not listed.

They did tell me on the phone that World Market by Wyndham was Wyndham hotels.

Yeah, I did type in World market by wyndam, or something similar, on either yahoo or google or both, but I was already told on the phone about wyndam.com. That actually is a real website.

Actually, on the phone I was told that it would take about "90 minutes" which is the same time as the hour and a half you mentioned!

I was thinking of the BBB, if not the BBB, Some company..

I think I sort of know what a time share is, but yeah.

Sorry, I know I didn’t answer everyone.
Okay, don’t know if I really Am sorry, so…that may have been a lie. Just don’t feel the sorryness in my heart. But I know I didn’t answer everyone.
I meant to write about the timeshare because I’m not THAT sure what it is. Then again, I can always look on wikipedia.

It’s a scam. They snagged your email from somewhere in cyberspace and you fell for it. They will ask you for money to get the tickets and you will have to put in more and more money until you just give up. Good luck to you! Try typing in the beginning of the email or the names they gave you. These scammers tend to not be so smart and others that got burned tend to post stuff to warn others.

Is my phone working correctly for this employer call?

ORIGINAL QUESTION BELOW:

I applied for a position at Mr.Lube about a week ago. I recieved a call 2 days from then to confirm I applied online with my email and that they did recieve my resume. Another 3-4 days later I recieved a call from Mr.Lube on my caller ID missed calls (I was not home it was on Sunday the 16th Nov.) at about 3:15pm. They have not called back yet since what should I do? As its only been 3 days since they first tried should I just wait and see if they call back? Give it a full weeks time? I dont have an answering machine so there was no message. I think I should wait for another call but I am not sure? Thanks for any help/reply in what to do or what you would do.

————————————————————–
Here is the strange thing, after some investigating just now it seems this number does not reach Mr.lube nor does it match the place on white pages reverse lookup, it states that it is a dietry/health food store, when you call the number you get that fax sound after many rings so what is going on here? Is my phone displaying a faulty name for this number? and I know I applied at a Mr.Lube because it is there official Canada website that you apply at.
phone is correct for all other calls so far, the number is 780-468-1755 please check it on google or something if you want and see what it shows up as. I believe its a fax number Is it possible for the phone to misread like this?
? Thanks for the kind advice and I would call but this number that matches their name on my phone does not take me threw to Mr.Lube it is a different number?

Walk into the nearest Mr. Lube and fill out an app. It is a big warning when you return a call and the number does not work. Check the number at www.800NOTES.com. They have a list of all scammers..

Reverse phone number lookup?

I have a cell phone number that is harassing me. I do not wish to change my number. I would like to trace just the service provider and notify them. If you have a subscription please respond or email hk182luver@yahoo.com

Hi,

The only way to do a reverse search for "free" is to use Google.com and type in the cell number like this:

"xxx-xxx-xxxx"

"(xxx) xxx xxxx"

and so on. Try Yahoo and MSN as well, as their indexes fluctuate and differ slightly.

If you want to pay for results, it IS a bit of a risk, so go with a company that offers a refund policy. For example Cell Phone Reverse Lookup - http://www.reversecellphonerecords.com/ has a 56 day guarantee - no results, then get a refund.

But try Google first.

And if you’re a real "do it yourselfer", then check out the more detailed tutorial on conducting a free reverse lookup using search engines at Free Reverse Cell Phone Lookup - Zimbio

Best of luck
